AEGON is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, the Company provides life insurance, pensions and asset management products. The Company is also active in accident, supplemental health, general insurance, and some limited banking activities. The Company's operations can be divided into four segments: the Americas which provides life insurance, pensions, long-term savings, investment, life reinsurance and asset management products; the Netherlands which provides life insurance and pensions; the U.K. which provides life insurance, pensions, asset management products and financial advice; and New markets which is engaged in life and protection, pensions, asset management and non-life insurance.
