Starpharma is engaged in the development of dendrimer nanotechnology for pharmaceutical, life-science and other applications. Co. is composed of two operating companies, Starpharma Pty Ltd in Australia and Dendritic Nanotechnologies Inc in the USA. Products based on Co.'s dendrimer technology are on the market in the form of diagnostic kits and laboratory reagents. Co.'s lead pharmaceutical development product is VivaGel? (SPL7013 Gel), a vaginal microbicide designed to prevent the transmission of STIs, including HIV and genital herpes. Co. also has additional development programs in the areas of Drug Delivery, siRNA transfection regents and Targeted Diagnostics, together with existing fine chemicals product sales and revenues from licensing arrangements in the diagnostic and reagents fields.
